The Grass is Always Greener

I love grass. image credit No not the kind of grass that you cook in Chocolate brownies or stuff into a decorative pipe. Normal grass. Lawn grass. The stuff that you sit on at the park with the kids play, or that you roll down on a huge hill getting really itchy, or that you scoop dog poop off. That grass. I love it. image credit I’ve loved grass for a while, if I’m honest with myself. Every home Boatman and I have lived in has come with a patchy lawn at best, and it has always...

Scared to Say No

I’ve been a little slack with these heart training posts of late, for a number of reasons. One, is that I’ve just been busy and haven’t had a huge amount of time to blog, but another is that I really don’t want to preach. Don’t get me wrong; I believe in this. In the absence of free PR sponsored fabric, agree to make a quilt for your nephews 16th birthday, with a ridiculous deadline, because your sister is paying for it. Step 3. Give your sister ambiguous instructions when it comes to the fabric order, so that she does, in fact, purchase the wrong one. Step 4. Upon receiving said fabric,...

Run for Your Life

I’ve been absent from the blog for a few days, which is unlike me. I love blogging and writing and I feel the itch to to do it almost constantly. The last few days have not seen me un-inspired; rather exactly the opposite. I’ve just been busy. There have been birthdays and parties and sick kids and parenting courses and a quilting project with an unreasonable dead line that has sucked out every last minute. My washing has reached epic proportions, and it’s quite possible that...
