I have a bad case of the creative itchies.
As a talented craft blogger, I quite often feel the need to create something new and just chill out.
The problem is, once I start a project, I can not stop until it is done. Which means that I need to know I have a good block of time to do stuff.
Unfortunately that is something I do not have a lot of at the moment.
Which leaves me feeling frustrated and itchy.
So the next best thing is to show you all the things I want to try.
Ready?
Ok!
First things first, I am itching to make myself a little craft apron. That way I won’t have to worry about leaving my scissors or rotary cutter where little hands can find them.
This one will work, quite nicely.
For Bridie’s birthday it’s going to be rainbow party central. Of course this means there are all sorts of things I can do to make a fun afternoon for little girls.
If I can find cheap ribbon somewhere, these will go great with the fairy skirts we are making for a party activity.
Must make one of these before the day….
I’m also keen to make some birthday bunting.
I did some for Taylah’s so it only seems fair. Plus some rainbow flags would definitely set the mood.
And although it’s not crafty at all, I think I will need this while I’m working.
What would you make given a jar full of M&M’s and a whole bunch of time?

I see you’ve succumbed to pinterest! That fairy skirt is gorgeous

I have a few links to places where you can get ribbon cheap online… I’ll try and send you the links sometime today
Happy crafting Jess!

That would be great!
Yes, I’m finally seeing a few positives in Pinterest. The craft opportunities are endless!
Do hope you make the kiddy apron! It’s so cute! I can’t sew and really admire people who can heh I did the no-sew tutus before though. So easy and prob just need 2 hrs inclusive of time to cut the strips

I will do my best to make the apron. Couldn’t slew last night trying to think how I would do it!
I never thought I could sew either, but you don’t know what you’re capable of.
Don’t you just love Pinterest. I have so much going on in my head and want to do it all NOW!
Good luck with your creative insight. Bridie’s party should be one colorful hooterama.
I think I may be more excited about Bridie’s party than she is!

Maybe you can get a PR company to give you one as a review product?
Back in my teens and 20s I was very crafty, and loved it. It was such an outlet. I just kind of made stuff up and had a go and started new projects all the time and it was serious fun. But it all ended when I had children – something had to give! I love working, and working and parenting took up all my time. I can totally see myself going back to it when the kids are older. Making me some funky nanna socks.

Yes there is never enough time. *sigh*
I would like to see these funky nanna socks!
Yep I know what you mean. If only there were more hours in the day the ability to sleep less.
I love the apron idea as a present. I just saw a lady making them locally actually, personalised with names.

Oh thats a good idea!
Now just to work out how to do it….
All too often I do… Doll mei tais for the boys, a pair of pants, a shirt, a Super Mario costume for camp… magician’s cape and hat for a birthday party… the endless projects the children think I’m capable of. So I might be capable… sometimes. The other half is more capable with a sewing machine than I… so this is good.
I look forward to pics of all finished projects Jess!

Hey capes and pants are nothing too shabby!
I love the inspiration kids provide, and the ‘excuse’ to get crafty.
I LOVE the idea of a craft apron. You should totally make that.
And yes, the big bowl of smarties. Every mum needs one of those. Every single day.

Yes I think the craft apron is a definite necessity.
As are the smarties.
Now I’m hungry….
The only thing I wish for is that I can hem up pants and sew buttons lol. But I’m to lazy to learn. I will keep my mil busy for a while cause her son, me and her granddaughters are short.

Oh, you are indeed talented, Jess! I can only dream about sewing! Love the rainbow theme idea! Those fairy skirts are to die for. Can you make one for me, please ?

I have the opposite problem. I’m the master of starting a new project and then letting it drop off a very short time. Right now I have a ball of wool and a crochet needle looking at my with rejection in their eyes. Eeek!

I have to resist my creative itchies, because I get distracted midway and don’t finish my projects. Those M&M’s though? I could TOTALLY finish those off!
