So last Friday, I began to ponder what I would write for this weeks post; fairly typical of a friday around here.

Saturday, I was no closer to an idea, and beginning to stretch my imagination to its farthest limits. I wanted to make another music video, but I had no inspiration.

By Sunday, and not a clever thought later, I was beginning to stress. I don’t like to pull IBOT posts out of my bottom.

I began some earnest praying for inspiration.

Then, Sunday night, Ava decided that sleep was for the weak. Or rather for those who would prefer not to eat smelly green things from the side of the toilet bowl whilst momentarily unsupervised, and suffer from tummy cramps all night.

At least, that’s what I think was the problem. The poor little thing was screaming in pain, farting like no tomorrow, and clutching her bottom and tummy, begging to go to the toilet. At 11, on the verge of taking her to the hospital because she was such a wreck, I gave her panadol which she hates, and sat her on the couch with me to try and calm her down.

We watched Tess of the Durbevilles, and she found the chickens interesting before deciding to play with my toes.

Panadol makes her hypo.

At midnight, I sent her back to bed, as the pain had obviously subsided, but the little rascal stayed awake till about 2, talking, asking for the toilet, and singing made up songs.

Which meant that I stayed up till two, listening, taking her to the toilet and wondering why we ever encouraged her to speak.

But somewhere in the early hours of monday morning, or possibly after 7 when she got up, (I was sleep deprived), an idea emerged. Like a tiny little light at the end of a uninspired tunnel, I suddenly had direction.

And no, not One Direction this time, but a vlog no less.

Presenting, Slumber Paradise.

  23. Ahhhh Toddler induced sleepless nights- so not fun- most of the time.

My miss 2 rarely sleeps before MIDNIGHT- no idea why- but hoping me changing to a more structured, routine life will encourage better sleep patterns for us all.

    Hope Ava is better now.
